Aquariums Help Kids' Growth and Development

By Erika Ayala

When you have kids, you are responsible for their growth and development because no one else is. You could say that the school is one of the biggest factors that influence your child. But, if something goes wrong, you cannot blame them. Every single positive and negative effect on your child's growth relies on you. Apparently, being a parent is a challenge. You are obliged to take full responsibility in everything. Parents cannot rely completely in school when you talk about their education. Thus, you have to do something about it. One thing you can do is to take them to educational places like aquariums.

While I was growing up, my parents take me out to educational places like museums and aquariums. I am always excited when these scenarios happen. It is a fact that kids are attracted to water and to aquatic animals. Just like me, when I was younger, I couldn't say 'no' to my parents if aquariums is our destination for the day. Kids are amused by how these fishes live underwater. They are curious on how they breathe or what makes them live. If you are a parent, I suggest that you step up and make a move by taking your kids to educational places like aquariums.

Bringing your kids to the aquarium is a good idea because you and your children benefit from doing this. In the aquarium, you can bond with them even more. This is different from simply playing or watching television at home. You can act as their teacher as you explore the aquarium. Teach them what they need to know. Introduce to them animals they only read in books or watch in the television. Let your kids feel that you are much interested in learning about these animals. And you are doing bringing them to the aquarium because you love to bond and learn with them at the same time.

As you visit aquariums with your kids, they will be more comfortable to you, that is without any doubt. Each time you go out with your kids, you don't notice that they become closer to you whether you like it or not. Living in one home is not enough for you to get to know your kids. At least, when you go out, you will be able to learn more of their interests. You can see their development in the outside world and how they relate to other people as well.

I am proud to say that my parents did a great job in raising me up. I became more outgoing, confident and adventurous because of the fact that they constantly take me out to educational places like aquariums. I became more knowledgeable, practically and not only book-based. Some people are only good when they are in school. But in reality, you have to be good on how you relate to other people and how you apply things in real life. It is a guarantee that taking your kids out to places like aquariums will help their growth and development. Therefore, you should start doing something about it. Plan your trips. Schedule your aquarium trip with your family some time this weekend.

If you live in the Philippines, try to check out aquariums in Navotas or other cities around the metro.
